This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the revision petition and the appeal filed by the petitioner on 22.09.2017 against the assignment order.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

3.The case of the petitioner is that he is doing agricultural work in S.Nos.238B and 239, measuring to an extent of 2 acres 60 cents situated at Anadankovil West Village, Manmangalam Taluk, Karur District and he preferred two applications dated 29.11.2008 and 11.10.2010, seeking patta for the said land. In the meanwhile, he came to know that the said land was assigned in favour of one Manjula and patta was also granted in her favour. Challenging the order of assignment, the petitioner has preferred an appeal and the same is pending without passing any orders. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer. 4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner on 22.09.2017 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving due opportunity to the petitioner and any of the interested parties. 5.With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
