ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to grant adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members. 2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) would submit that on a complaint given by one Nehru, son of the Kuppusamy, a case has been registered as against the petitioner, for the offence under Sections 406 & 420 IPC. He would further submit that the allegations against the petitioners is that he collected money from several persons by stating that he would get job abroad and subsequently, he cheated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

them. He would also submit them the fourth respondent had visited the premises of the petitioner along with the Village Administrative Officer and that they have found nobody at the premises and the Village Administrative Officer has also issued a certificate stating that there is nobody available in the house for the past one week.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that due to harassment of third persons, the petitioner along with the family members had fled away from the house and he would further submit that for the offence committed by the petitioner, the family members shall not victimised and the respondent police has to give protection to the petitioner's family members, who are innocents and who are not connected with offence.

4.This Court is of the view that the fourth respondent is duty bound to protect innocent family members of the petitioner, who are not connected with the offence. In the event of the petitioners family members giving any representation, the respondent police shall consider it.

5.With this observation, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
