ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A1, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 12.05.2025 for the offences under Sections 6(4) of the Tamil Nadu Scheduled Commodities (Regulation of Distribution by Card System) Order, 1982 r/w Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 in Crime No.72 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.
2.The case of the prosecution is that on 11.05.2025, the co-accused/A5 illegally transported nearly 25 tons of PDS rice, which were collected from the card holders by the petitioner and A3, by using a lorry bearing Registration No.TN-29-AY-1831. Hence, the case. Based on the confession of A5, the petitioner has been arrayed as A3.
3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner is innocent and the petitioner has not involved in any offence and also he has been falsely implicated in this case.
4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the State strongly objected to grant bail to the petitioner by stating that the investigation is still pending and the petitioner is involved in several previous cases, which are similar in nature and further, if the petitioner is granted bail, he may commit similar type of offence and may abscond.

5.Taking into consideration of the fact that the investigation is still pending and the custodial interrogation is necessary and also if the petitioner is released on bail, there is a chance for absconding, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition.
