ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking to direct the respondent to dispose of the Patta Appeal dated 11.10.2017, filed by the petitioner within the stipulated time.
2.According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, his father purchased the property in S.F.No.421/4 situated at Melarankiyan Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District, vide sale deed dated 12.08.1960. After the demise of his father, the petitioner and his brothers are in enjoyment and possession of the same. While so, on coming to know that some third party had illegally obtained patta No. 2272 in respect of the property, the petitioner after approaching the authorities, sent a representation dated 11.10.2017 requesting the respondents to cancel the patta and issue patta in favour of the petitioner and his brother.
3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner would be considered on merits within the time stipulated by this Court.

4.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the representation dated 11.10.2017 filed by petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as to the interested parties, if any within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
