ORDER

The petitioner seeks to prevent the disconnection of electricity service connection numbers 07068009659 and 07068009658. The petitioner states that he entered into a rental agreement with the second respondent on 03.11.2020 in order to run the bakery unit at shop No. 22B and 22C at Muthu Nagar Village, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District.

2. For purposes of running the aforesaid bakery unit, the above mentioned electricity service connections were obtained. It is stated by the petitioner that the electricity charges are being remitted regularly without default. The present writ petition is filed on the basis of the apprehension that the electricity service connections would be disconnected at the instance of the second respondent herein.

Ms.M.Rajeswari, learned counsel appearing for Mr.S.M.S.Jhonny Basha, learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent submits, on instructions, that the TANGEDCO does not get embroiled in private disputes between a landlord and tenant. In terms of applicable regulations, it is stated that the electricity service connection is disconnected only in the event of default in payment of necessary charges.

4. In the light of the aforesaid submission on behalf of TANGEDCO, the petitioner's apprehension is misplaced. Consequently, it is not necessary to adjudicate the present writ petition. Therefore, W.P.(MD).No. 15028 of 2021 is disposed of by recording aforesaid submissions and without any order as to costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P(MD).No.11972 of 2021 is closed.
