ORDER
The writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the Election Notification dated 07.10.2017 for the term 2017-2019 issued by the respondents and to direct the respondents to provide one third reservation for Women candidates in the Works Committee by considering the petitioners representation dated 11.10.2017. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is working as a Machinist in the Ordnance Factory, Trichy. It is the case of the petitioner that the respondent has issued Election notification for electing members to Works Committee consisting of ten members, no reservation has been made for women candidates especially when there are more number of women workers. So the petitioner has given a representation dated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
11.10.2017 to the second respondent. Though, it has been orally rejected by the respondents, no order came to be passed on his representation. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court, seeking appropriate direction to the respondents. 3.The learned Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner would be considered on merits within the time stipulated by this Court. 4.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought in this writ petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.10.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as to all the interested parties, if any, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
