ORDER

The above writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the 1st respondent to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's property situated at Plot No.8, Kuberan Nagar, Villapuram North Street, Madurai-625012 as per the proceedings of the 1st respondent dated 07.02.2023, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2024.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she had purchased an extent of 429 1⁄2 sq.ft in the eastern side of Plot No.8, Ward No.68, Old Survey No. 13/3A, New Survey No.13/6 in Madurai South Taluk, Villapuram from

one N.Punitha through sale deed dated 17.02.2022 in Doc.No.1793/2022. Thereafter, the petitioner made an application before the 1st respondent for electricity connection on 24.01.2023, for which the 1st respondent sent a communication dated 07.02.2023 that the road in which the electricity connection has to be given and electric poles to be erected are encroached by 2nd and 3rd respondents. On 12.02.2024, the petitioner had made a representation to the District Collector, Madurai to remove the encroachment and provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's property. The same was forwarded to the 1st respondent to take necessary action for providing electricity connection. Due to the inaction on the part of the 1st respondent, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the learned counsels on either side.

4. The contesting respondent has absolutely no objection to the line being drawn from the 30 feet road and the petitioner is also satisfied, if the same is done. Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of with a

direction to the 1st respondent to fix the electricity pole on the 30 feet road situated in the south of the petitioner's property as described in the sale deed, under which the petitioner has purchased the property, dated 17.02.2022 and draw the electricity line. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of one month from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
