O R D E R

This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Mandamus, directing the first respondent to delete the petitioner's name in the rowdy list No. 657 of 2006 maintained by the third respondent herein by considering the petitioner's representation dated 30.05.2022.

2. The facts of the case are that the respondent Police registered an F.I.R. in Crime Nos.208 of 1999 and 514 of 2014 against the petitioner. Thereafter, the trial was conducted and the petitioner was acquitted in all the cases. But the third respondent Police is still keeping the name of the petitioner in the Rowdy List as No.657 of 2006. Now the petitioner leads a peaceful life. In this regard, the petitioner preferred a representation dated 30.05.2022 to the respondent Police seeking for deletion of his name in the rowdy list.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has given a representation on 30.05.2022 to delete his name from the Rowdy List. But the respondent police has neither deleted his name nor disposed of his representation. Hence, the above petition has been filed.

4. At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents would submits that the respondent Police are now ready to consider the representation given by the petitioner.

5. Considered the rival submissions made on both sides and perused the records.

6. This Court directs the first respondent to consider the representation given by the petitioner on 30.05.2022 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
