PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 528 of BNSS Act, to direct the respondent police and the learned Judicial Magistrate, Papanasam, Thanjavur District, to conduct trial and dispose of C.C.No.784/2025 on the file of Judicial Magistrate, Papanasam, Thanjavur District within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The present petition has been filed by the defacto complainant in C.C.No. 784 of 2025, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Papanasam, Thanjavur District, seeking disposal of the criminal case.

2. It could be seen from the records that summons were issued to L.W.1 to L.W.3 on 17.04.2026 directing them to appear on 14.05.2026. Since the witnesses have not appeared, fresh summons were issued to L.W.1 to L.W.3 to appear on 22.06.2026.

3. It is clear that due to non-appearance of the witnesses, the trial is being delayed. There shall be a direction to the respondent police to see that the witnesses are produced on the next date of hearing, namely, on 22.06.2026.

4. The trial Court is directed to dispose of the criminal case on or before 31.12.2026.

5. With the above said observations, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
