Respondents Prayer :- Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for records pertaining to the impugned order in No. 524/Vu.Tha.2/2025 dated 19.05.2025 passed by the 1st Respondent and quash the same and consequently directing the Respondents to grant 28 days of ordinary leave or 15 days emergency leave without escort to petitioners husband namely Chandiran, S/o. Amirtham bearing PID No. 96890 1/4
serving life sentence at Palayamkottai Central Prison. ORDER:- This Writ Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and the earlier order of this court dated 02/06/2025 and upon hearing the arguments of Thiru. R. Narayanan, Advocate for the Petitioner and of Thiru.A. Thiruvadikumar, Additional Public Prosecutor, for the respondents No. 1 to 3, this Court made the following order: (Order of the Court was made byA.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.) "The matter has been listed today under the caption 'for clarification'. 2.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that this Court by order dated 02.06.2025 while disposing of the writ petition, had granted eight days of ordinary leave to the life convict/petitioner's husband, but did not direct any escort to be accompanied with the life convict during the leave period. However, the certified copy of the order passed in the writ petition reflects otherwise. Hence, he prays for appropriate modification in the order copy. 3.
In view of the said submission, the words find place in the last line of paragraph No.4 namely, ''with single escort'' and clauses (iv) and (v) of paragraph No.5 shall stand deleted. Consequently, clauses (vi) (vii) and (viii) shall be read as (iv), (v) and (vi).
