ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble The ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE] The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to close the bars, which are running without proper licence attached to TASMAC BARS across Karur District.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that in and around Karur District, totally, 8 bars are running illegally. Though tender was called for by the respondent TASMAC, these bars were not taken in auction. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents to take action to close the said bars. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner has approached this Court with the aforesaid prayer.

3.The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent TASMAC, relying upon the affidavit filed by the District Manager, TASMAC Limited / 3rd

respondent herein, would submit that in respect of the aforesaid 8 bars, though tender was conducted periodically, after confirmation of the bid, the bidders have not paid the license amount and also not produced NOC and therefore, their confirmation was cancelled and their security deposit amount was also forfeited. 4.He undertakes before this Court that insofar as the aforesaid 8 bars are concerned, tender notification would be issued for letting out the same and after conducting bid, license would be granted to the successful bidders. 5.Recording the said submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent TASMAC to issue tender notification in respect of the aforesaid 8 bars and after completing the process, issue license to the successful bidders. The aforesaid exercise is directed to be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
