For Petitioner : Mr.R.Balamuruganantham For Respondents : Mr.D.Muruganantham Additional Government Pleader.

ORDER

The petitioner wants to conduct a cultural programme, namely, Sree Valli Thirumanam Drama, on 02.11.2017 in connection with Thevar Jeyanthi Festival at Kilankattur, A.Nedunkulam, Keelamelkudi, Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District. 2.The petitioner had already given a representation, dated 27.10.2017 in this regard. The function is proposed to be conducted tomorrow (04.11.2017). The second respondent is directed to give permission to the petitioner to conduct the said programme, namely, Sree Valli Thirumanam Drama. It is open to the second respondent to impose appropriate conditions to ensure smooth conduct of the event. If the conditions are violated, it is open to the second respondent to intervene and even stop the programme.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner specifically undertakes on behalf of the writ petitioner that they would scrupulously adhere to the conditions imposed by the respondent police in letter and spirit. It is open to the respondent police to stipulate such conditions to ensure the complete maintenance of law and order. If the conditions are breached liberty is given to the respondent to bring the same to the notice of this Court. This is because any breach of undertaking would amount to contempt of Court.
