This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to pass order on the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2020 seeking to fill up 12 posts of Village Administrative Officer fell vacant for the year 2017-18 by way of recruitment by transfer promotion in accordance with G.O.Nilai No.570 dated 26.12.2014. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that by way of G.O.Nilai No.570 dated 26.12.2014, 20% of the Village Administrative Officer posts had been earmarked to be filled by way of recruitment by transfer promotion. Therefore, 12 posts were earmarked to be filled by way of recruitment by transfer promotion for the year 2017-2018. So far, the respondents left open 12 posts vacant for the year 20171/3

2018 and they have taken steps to fill up the vacancy that arise from the years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. Because of the reason that 12 posts are not filled up, the petitioner has not able to get promotion. If the said 12 posts vacancy were filled up, the petitioner will get a chance to get promotion as Village Administrative Officer from the post of Village Assistant. In this regard, though the petitioner has given a representation on 24.01.2020, so far the respondents have not taken any steps to dispose of the representation.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents requested time to take appropriate instructions from his client. 4.This Court prima facie finds that there is an inordinate delay on the part of the respondents in disposing of the representation of the petitioner, dated 24.01.2020. This Court does not find as to why the learned Government Advocate seeks time to take appropriate instructions from his client in this matter, whereas the petitioner approaches this Court only for disposal of the representation. The respondents are duty bound to dispose of the representation within a reasonable time and at any cost, the respondents have not supposed to keep it pending on their table for the period of 10 months. Accordingly, this Court directs the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2020 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order on merits and in accordance with law, without making any further delay in decision making process. 5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
