Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order in Na.Ka.No. B1/48723/2017 dated 20.10.2017 passed by the fourth respondent and quash the same as illegal and for consequential direction, directing the first respondent to conduct a fresh physical efficiency test for the petitioner and appoint him (Registration Number.2421848) as Grade-II Constable, Grade II Jail Warders and Firemen in the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board 2017 after fulfilling all formalities.

O R D E R

The writ petitioner is a candidate for the post of Grade-II Police Constable, Grade II Jail Warders and Firemen-2017. He had taken part in the selection process.

2.On 20.10.2017, the fourth respondent herein has passed the impugned order stating that the writ petitioner is suffering from a handicap namely, defective vision in both eyes. In the said order, it is clarified that it is open to the writ petitioner to seek constitution of a Medical Board. But, such a request can be made only if appropriate materials are enclosed along with the said request. The writ petitioner underwent medical check up in Aravind Eye Hospital and also obtained Eye Fitness certificate. Enclosing the same, he had made a representation on 30.10.2017 calling upon for the constitution of a second medical board. But, till date, the said request has not been considered. 3.This Court therefore directs the respondents 1 to 4 to constitute the second medical board by taking note of the appeal dated 30.10.2017 submitted by the writ petitioner. Such a medical board shall be constituted on or before 28.02.2018 and report shall be obtained two weeks thereafter.
