ORDER

The petitioner is a senior citizen. He wants to travel abroad for medical treatment. In the petitioner's birth certificate, his date of birth has been wrongly recorded as 13.12.1955 instead of 02.12.1955. The petitioner has enclosed the copy of the secondary leaving certificate. It is mentioned therein that his date of birth is 02.12.1955. It is well settled that the school record has to be preferred. Therefore, the respondents are directed to make necessary changes in the original record. A revised birth certificate will be issued in favour of the petitioner and it shall contain the petitioner's date of birth as 02.12.1955. In the revised certificate, the corrected date of birth alone should be mentioned. Only in the records, changes shall be made. This shall be done within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

2. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
