This is an application filed by the petitioner seeking permission to conduct cultural programme during temple festival in Arulmighu Sri Koppu Maha Mariamman Temple, Koppu Village, Srirangam Taluk, Trichy District, on 12.06.2016.

2. Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, who strongly objected to the celebration, on the ground that there is a law and problem in that locality pursuant to a murder; that a case in Crime No.170 of 2016 has been registered under Section 302 IPC and therefore, it is not an ideal time for granting permission to conduct the programme.

4. Under such circumstances, the apprehension of the respondents cannot be easily brushed aside, as the responsibility of maintaining law and order problem rests only with the respondent police and it is for the respondent police to assess the present situation prevalent in that area. Therefore, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioner dated 02.06.2016 and pass orders on the same immediately.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
