CORAM

THE HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE G.R.SWAMINATHAN W.P.(MD) No.20424 of 2017 Mr.S.Paraman ... Petitioner -Vs1. The Commissioner, Corporation of Madurai, Madurai.

2. The Branch Manager, Canara Bank, Aringnar Anna Maligai Corporation Branch, Melur Road, Madurai-20.

... Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the rrespondent No.1 to transfer the petitioner's Account No.3041101252074 from the second respondent to State Bank of India, Sandhaipettai Branch, Kamarajar Salai, Madurai in Account No.20218119411 by the war of considering petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2017 within a period of time stipulated by this Court.

For Petitioner : Mr.R.Venkatesan For R1 : Mr.T.S.Mohamed Mohideen For R2 : Mr.Pala Ramasamy

O R D E R

The petitioner is an employee of Madurai Corporation. For easy disbursement of salary to the employees, the corporation has notified the Canara Bank as service bank. The circular dated 13.11.2014 has been issued by the commissioner of Madurai Corporation in this regard.

2.It appears that the writ petitioner is having some dispute with the second respondent Canara Bank having branch within the corporation premises. The petitioner now seeks a direction for transfer of his account to State Bank of India, Sandhaipettai Branch, Kamarajar Salai, Madurai. The only right of the writ petitioner can be that he should be paid his salary without any delay or default .

3.It is not open to the writ petitioner to insist that employer must deposit only in the account notified by him for ensuring smoothness of transaction. The employer has made some arrangements with the Canara Bank. The writ petitioner's rights are not infringed in any manner. I, therefore, see no merit in the prayer made in this writ petition. Accordingly this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
