2. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3. No counter is filed on behalf of the respondents.
4. According to the petitioner, one of his daughters viz., Jeya got married and went to bridegroom's home. With a view to delete her name from the petitioner's ration-card and to include her name in her husband's ration card, the petitioner submitted an application before the second respondent. However, to the shock and surprise of the petitioner, the second respondent/Taluk Supply Officer, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District, informed the petitioner that his ration card itself has https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
been cancelled.

The Learned Counsel for the Petitioner brings it to the notice of this Court that the petitioner explained to the second respondent that since the month of June 2015, the petitioner was purchasing the things from the ration shop and he was always available at home and questioned him as to why his ration card was cancelled. Since there was no proper reply from the second respondent/ Taluk Supply Officer, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

On behalf of the respondents, the Learned Additional Government Pleader brings it to the notice of this Court that the petitioner's application dated 09.09.2015 praying for issuance of a family card was examined and it was recommended for printing of the family card, as per proceedings of the Radhapuram Taluk Supply Officer's letter dated 30.12.2015 and transmitted to the Tirunelveli District Supply Officer.
7. The Learned Additional Government Pleader submits that within a week's time, family card would be issued to the petitioner.
8. Recording the aforesaid fact that the petitioner would be supplied with a new ration card within a week, this Court, disposes of the writ petition by directing the second respondent to supply a new ration card to the petitioner within a week without fail.
9. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
