The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Anganwadi Paniyalar in the Anganwadi Centre at Saruthupatti, Muthalamman Kovil, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District as per interview dated 29.08.2017 based on the petitioner's representation dated 06.08.2018. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner had applied for the post of Anganwadi Paniyalar in the Angawadi Centre at Saruthupatti Muthalamman Kovil, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District. She was called for interview by the second respondent. She also appeared and produced all the relevant https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

documents to the second respondent. It is the contention of the petitioner she is the only participant to the said post and though she had necessary qualification and also produced all the necessary documents as required to the second respondent, she was not selected. It is further submitted that the said post remains vacant till now, since the petitioner is the only participant. 4.The petitioner as a matter of right cannot contend that she should be appointed. The appointment would be made only by due process of selection, and, also by considering the meritorious candidates, complying all the necessary rules and regulations, who are eligible to be appointed to the post of Anganwadi Paniyalar in the Anganwadi Centre at Seruthupatti Muthualaman Kovil, Theni District.

5.In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.08.2018 in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6,.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
