By consent, this writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. Mr.M.Alagathevan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he is a farmer having cultivable lands and due to failure in monsoon, he could not be able to cultivate his lands.

The petitioner has submitted a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation dated 26.05.2017 to the second respondent and fourth respondent on 22.05.2017, seeking some ex-gratia amount from the Government to make good the loss, incurred by him. As the said representation is kept pending without any action, the petitioner is before this Court.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the second respondent is the competent authority to pass orders in this matter and if a reasonable time is granted to him, appropriate orders will be passed on the representation of the petitioner dated 26.05.2017.

5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the prayer, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.05.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
