ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble The Chief Justice) The petitioner claims to have qualified in L.L.B degree examination in the year 2013. But he is carrying on legal consultancy services and an agriculturist by profession. On a query, he states that he has not cleared the bar examination. 2.The petitioner seeks to raise the issue, through this Public Interest Litigation qua the aspect of Advocates not wearing https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
proper dress, as prescribed while appearing in Courts. The petitioner in fact raised this issue with the Bar Council, vide letter dated 30.11.2015, to which the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry replied, vide letter dated 18.12.2015, stating that the Bar Council has given proper instructions, even at the time of enrolment, for maintaining the dress code, as per the rules and that they have not received any specific complaint in this behalf. It has been stated that if any specific complaint is received then action would be taken.
3.We may note that the petitioner has not filed any specific example other than raising a general issue and there may not be any quarrel over the proposition that Advocates have to wear prescribed dress. What is the need of issuing of a direction when everybody is in agreement with that proposition and no specific violations have been set out. In fact, the another impropriety sought to be pointed out by the petitioner is that some lawyers squat on the table. But on our enquiry, what transpired is that apparently they are leaning while making submissions.
4.We have seen the photographs annexed to the petition. These photographs are of women lawyers carrying out demonstrations. The only thing we can say is that these are demonstrations on the streets and some of them are actually wearing their bands. We are sure that the Bar Council can issue appropriate advisory in this behalf as that is not something expected of the counsel.
5.We see no reason to issue any directions.
6.Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P(MD)No.8019 of 2016 is also closed.
