: Respondent Prayer: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent I.e., the Commissioner of Survey & Settlement, Chennai, to pass appropriate orders on the appeal dated 20.01.2016 regarding fixation of the petitioner's pay on par with his junior Thiru.S.Sivasamy, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R
The petitioner Mr.G.Rajendran has come to this Court, seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent herein viz., the Commissioner of Survey and Settlement, Chennai, to pass appropriate orders on the appeal filed by him on 20.01.2010 regarding fixation of pay on par with his junior Mr.S.Sivasamy within a specified time-limit.
2. Mr.Visvalingam, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, would submit that the petitioner, after noticing that his junior Mr.Sivasamy was getting higher scale of pay, has submitted a representation on 14.06.2013 to the Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records, Virudhunagar, with a prayer to fix his scale of pay on par with his junior, since both of them joined in the cader 'Firka Surveyor and Sub Inspector of Surveyor on 12.04.2003 and 05.05.2005 respectively. His representation was rejected by the Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records, Virudhunagar, on 07.03.2016. Therefore, he preferred an appeal to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
the Commissioner of Survey and Settlement, Chennai, on 20.01.2016, explaining clearly that his claim to fix the pay on par with his junior Sivasamy is in order. Since the Appeal has not been disposed of so far, he has come to this Court.
3. Mr.Murugan, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, by taking notice and conceding that the issue lies in a narrow campus, sought for a reasonable time to dispose of the petitioner's appeal, on merits.
4. Recording the above statement, the respondent is hereby directed to dispose of the petitioner's appeal, dated 20.01.2016, within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
