ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The Writ Petition has been instituted to direct the respondents to establish a National Centre for Ageing in all Districts. 2.It is brought to the notice of this Court that welfare schemes are being implemented both by the State and Central Governments for the benefit of elderly citizens.

3.The sufficiency or insufficiency of such centres or the number of centres to be established, cannot be gone into by the High Court in a writ 3/6

proceedings. It is for the appropriate Government to implement welfare schemes for the benefit of citizens in a phased manner and such implementation is a matter of policy decision. 4.In view of the above, the relief as such sought for in the Writ Petition cannot be granted. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
