By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
2.According to the petitioners, they belong to various villages in Thanjavur District and they have cultivated paddy in their lands. Since, the representation dated 27.10.2017 sent by the petitioners seeking compensation for the failure of crops, is kept pending by the first respondent without consideration, the petitioners are before this Court.
3.The learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that the petitioners' representation would be considered on merits within the time stipulated by this Court.
4.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought in this writ petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 27.10.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law and also in line with the insurance scheme, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as to the interested parties, if any, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
