....Respondents PRAYER: Writ petition is filed, Under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to grant extension of fishing lease period of 2014 to 2017 for one more year i.e., upto June 2018 for the fishing lease of PeriyKanmoi of Narasingam Village, Madurai East Taluk, Madurai District, Considering my representation dated 22.06.2017. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2.According to the petitioner, he is the successful bidder in the tender for fishing, in respect of the tank in question, for the lease said period from 2016 to 2017. Pointing out that he suffered a loss during the said period due to drought, he sent a representation on 22.06.2017 to the respondents for extension of the lease period. Though a reply in this regard was given by the third respondent, no order has been passed so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation would be considered on merits within the time stipulated by this Court. 4.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought in this writ petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 22.06.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all the interested parties, if any, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.

Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
