O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.23 of 2012 on the file of the respondent and get it numbered within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2.The grievance of the petitioner is that the crime is of the year 2012, which was registered for the offences punishable under Sections 419, 467, 468, 471 and 420 of IPC, on the basis of the complaint given by him on. After lapse of 9 years, the Final Report came to be filed before the concerned Court, which was also taken on file in CC No.239 of 2020 in the year 2020. Even then, the respondent police has not taken any steps to secure the accused and conduct the trial. Hence, this petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that investigation in this case has been completed and Final Report was also filed before the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Sivagangai. He would further submit that the case is posted on 13.12.2021 for the appearance of the accused.

4.Considering the oldness of the crime and also considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.2, Sivagangai is directed to expedite the trial and dispose of the case in CC No.239 of 2020, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, on merits and in accordance with law. 5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of as infructuous.
