O R D E R

This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant police protection and permission to perform the Kabadi Tournament at Ambedkar Stadium, Keelakalkandaar Kottai, Thiruverumbur, Trichy District, from 10.00 p.m. on 17th June 2023 till 10.00 p.m. on 18th June 2023.

2. Mr.R.Suresh Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice for the respondents.

3.Heard both sides.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that seeking police protection and permission to perform the Kabadi Tournament at Ambedkar Stadium, Keelakalkandaar Kottai, Thiruverumbur, Trichy District, from 10.00 p.m. on 17th June 2023 till 10.00 p.m. on 18th June 2023, the petitioner has sent a representation to 2/6

the respondent police on 07.06.2023. Since that was not considered till date, the present petition has been filed.

5.The Division Bench of this Court passed an order in the case of C.Sathasivam Vs. The Superintendent of Police, Trichy District and another, in W.P.(MD).No.12535 of 2023, dated 24.05.2023, directing the concerned authorities to consider the representation made by the parties seeking permission and police protection to conduct Adal Padal, within a period of seven days from the date of receipt of any representation, failing which, there shall be a deemed permission on the 8th day. In spite of the above said specific order of the Division Bench, repeatedly this type of petition has been filed. The above said order shall stand extended to sports events also, since the principle are one and the same. 6.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that so far no such representation has been received from the petitioner. 7.Let the petitioner give fresh representation to the third respondent, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The same shall be disposed of by the third respondent 3/6

on its own merits by following the order following the order of the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court passed in the case of C.Sathasivam Vs. The Superintendent of Police, Trichy District and another, in W.P.(MD).No.12535 of 2023, dated 24.05.2023 and in the light of the circular of the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019 dated 09.04.2019. 8.With the above said directions, this writ petition stands allowed. 13.06.2023 NCC :Yes/No Index :Yes/No Internet : Yes/ No TM To 1.The Superintendent of Police, Trichy, Trichy District.
