Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned order passed by the first respondent in G.O. (pa)No.53 dated 22.02.2024 appointing the respondents 3 to 7 as non hereditary 1/4

trustees and quash the same and consequently directing the first respondent to appoint the petitioner as non-hereditary trustees for Sri Kattu Mari Amman Temple, Thirumangalam, Madurai District.

ORDER

The present Writ Petition is filed challenging the impugned order dated 22.02.2024, whereby, two non-hereditary trustees were appointed for the subject temple by the Government in exercise of its powers under Section 47(1) (a) of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act.

2. After submitting for a brief while, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner intends to avail the statutory remedy by way of revision under Section 21 of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act.

3. Recording the same, liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the revisional authority under Section 21 of the Act within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If any such revision 2/4

petition is filed, the same shall be entertained without reference to limitation and orders shall be passed in accordance with law, after affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties/stake holders, as expeditiously as possible.
