This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to promote the petitioner as Deputy Jailor with effect from October 2017 that is from the day on which the petitioner's immediate juniors were promoted by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 25.10.2017 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

2.Heard, Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.K.Baskara Pandian, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. 3.Having regard to the limited nature of relief sought by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any view on the correctness or entitlement of the claim made, directs the respondent to dispassionately consider the representation dated 25.10.2017 made by the petitioner and pass reasoned orders on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

merits in accordance with law and communicate the same to the petitioner and file a report of such compliance before the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court on or before 31.01.2018. 4.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the aforesaid direction. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.(MD)No.17262 of 2017 is closed.
