Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to grant permission and police protection for conducting the temple festival in Arulmigu Sangili Annan Koil, Seelaimpatti, Theni District scheduled from 08.06.2025 to 10.06.2025 for the peaceful and smooth conduct of event in accordance with law. ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking permission and police protection to conduct temple festival in Arulmigu Sangili Annan Koil, Seelaimpatti, Theni District scheduled from 08.06.2025 to 10.06.2025.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submits that there are two groups, the petitioner is one group and the 4th respondent is the other. The 4th respondent group 2/5

has raised serious objection and therefore, the respondent police have not granted permission to conduct the temple festival. 3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is not having any dispute with the 4th respondent and they are ready to conduct the festival together with the 4th respondent. 4.The learned Counsel appearing for the 4th respondent submits that with regard to the administration of the subject temple, there is a civil suit pending in OS.No.82 of 2019 before the District Munsif Court, Theni.

5.This Court considered the rival submissions made. 6.The filing of a civil suit by the 4th respondent does not prevent the villagers from conducting the festival. If the 4th respondent is inclined to participate in the festival, he can participate and the 3/5

petitioner shall not prevent anyone from participating in the festival and the 4th respondent shall also participate in the festival. 7.In view of the above, the respondent police shall grant permission and provide police protection for conducting above said temple festival, imposing necessary conditions. This petition is disposed of accordingly.
