O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to direct the 2nd respondent to grant compensation to the petitioner for the death of his father by accident in an unidentified vehicle by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2012.

2. Mr.M.Alagathevan, the learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that when his father was sleeping on the cot outside his house, an unidentified vehicle dashed against him, which resulted in his death and a case in Crime No.224 of 2009 under Section 304(A) IPC was registered, which was closed as undetectable on 20.05.2010. The petitioner has subsequently submitted a representation dated 27.01.2012 to the Chief Minister Grievance Cell for payment of compensation for his father's death and since no reply has been received on the same, the petitioner is before this Court with the above direction. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the Revenue Divisional Officer is the competent authority to look into the issue and the said authority has not been arrayed as the respondent in this petition.

5. In view of the above submission, the petitioner is directed to submit a copy of the representation dated 27.01.2012 along with a copy of this order to the 1st respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the 1st respondent is directed to forward the same to the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer for passing necessary orders thereon, if not already passed on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks thereafter.

6. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
