This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for quashing the FIR in Crime No.9 of 2021 registered on the file of the first respondent for the offences under Sections 498(A), 294(b), 406 and 506(ii) of IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. 2.The defacto complainant/S.Suganya is present in person before this Court. She has been duly identified by Ms.M.Johnsmary, Woman Grade-I Constable 618 attached to first respondent police station. The defacto complainant categorically states before this Court that she does not want to pursue the complaint. The parties have also filed a memo of joint compromise dated 22.07.2021. Since the parties have arrived at an amicable settlement, no purpose will be served in keeping the impugned prosecution alive. The impugned FIR is quashed. The Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
