ORDER

The above petition has been filed, invoking Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, seeking orders to punish the contemnors/ respondents 2 and 3 herein for their deliberate and willful disobedience of the order, dated 05.10.2023 passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.15898 of 2020.

It is seen from the records that the petitioner has filed the above writ petition, seeking writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent/District Collector to take appropriate action against the third respondent on the ground that he is trying to convert the dwelling house into Church. When the matter was taken up for hearing earlier, recording the submission made by the learned counsel for the third respondent that the third respondent is not making any such attempt to convert the dwelling house into a church, the petition was ordered to be closed.

3. The petitioner, by alleging that the third respondent has converted his dwelling house as a Church, has filed the present Contempt Petition.

4. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent/contemnor would submit that the 2/4

third respondent has not converted the house into Church and as per order passed in W.P.(MD)No.23705 of 2018, dated 19.09.2019 at the instance of the third respondent, they have been offering prayers in the residence of the third respondent.

5. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the third respondent and others are attempting to convert the neighbours to their religion.

6. The above contention made by the learned counsel for the petitioner is beyond the scope of this writ petition.

7. Since this Court has not issued any direction, nothing survives for further adjudication in this petition. Hence, the Contempt Petition is closed. The petitioner is at liberty to file a complaint before the appropriate authority, against the alleged conversion, if any.
