Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to release the retention amount of Rs.10,00,111/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs and One Hundred and Eleven Only) to the petitioner within the period fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the respondent/Corporation to release the retention amount of Rs.10,00,111/- only to the petitioner.

2. Mr.N.Shanmuga Selvan, learned counsel takes notice for the respondent-Corporation and by consent of both parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that even after completing the works by the petitioner on behalf of the Corporation, the retention amount deposited by the petitioner with the respondent-Corporation has not been repaid inspite of repeated request. It is the further case of the petitioner that the petitioner has made a representation on 25.11.2015 seeking for repayment of such retention order.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that till this date, the respondent-Corporation has not considered his request.

5. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances and without expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner, I only direct the respondent-Corporation to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.11.2015 and pass orders on the same on merits and in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
