ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.) W.P.(MD)No.14158 of 2023 is filed to issue a writ of mandamus forbearing the respondent from constructing the Village Panchayat Secretariat building or any other building in Survey Nos.104 3/6

and 107 of Alavandhankulam Village, Tirunelveli District. With a quite contrary prayer, W.P.(MD)No.16180 of 2024 is filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.04.2024 and 27.06.2024 and pass appropriate orders to construct the Village Panchayat Secretariat building in Survey Nos.104 and 107 of Alavandhankulam Village, Tirunelveli. 2.The two different writ petitions with conflicting prayer itself clearly indicate that there is a dispute in the village regarding the construction of the Village Panchayat Secretariat building in the subject property. The District Collector vide his proceedings dated 20.11.2024, considering the disputes, had dropped the proposal to put up the Village Panchayat Secretariat building in the above said property. The proceedings indicates that the proposed construction of Panchayat Secretariate Building at the cost of Rs.42.65 laksh, had been temporarily suspended.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader states that the District Administration has taken the decision to find an alternative place for putting up the construction.

4.Recording the same, these writ petitions are dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
