ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to take appropriate action based on the petitioner's complaint dated 13.04.2026 within the time frame fixed by the Court.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had lodged a complaint against one Sangarapandi, who was engaged by the petitioner as the building contractor for the construction of his house. A dispute subsequently arose between the petitioner and Sangarapandi. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint. However, no action was taken on the same. Consequently, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police, on instructions, submitted that the enquiry is pending solely due to the non-cooperation of the petitioner.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate that the petitioner has not cooperated with the enquiry and that the complaint has been kept pending only for that reason, the petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent police and produce all necessary documents and materials to substantiate his claim. Thereafter, the second respondent police is directed to issue notice to the said Sangarapandi under Section 64 of the BNSS, conduct a proper enquiry, and dispose of the petitioner's complaint on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. It is made clear that, while calling upon the petitioner to furnish documents or any other material information required for the enquiry, the respondent police shall not subject the petitioner to any form of harassment.
