2. Heard Mr.A.Rajaram, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Jayaraman, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The Writ Petitioner is working as a Grade-II Police Constable in M.Kallupatti Police Station, Madurai District. He was

imposed with certain punishment. The writ petitioner failed to file an appeal within time. He therefore lodged a mercy petition dated 15.11.2011 with the first respondent and the same is yet to be disposed of.

4. This Court directs the first respondent to dispose of the writ petitioner's Mercy petition dated 15.11.2011 on or before 30.04.2018.
