PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant parole to the petitioner's husband viz., Kandhasamy Pandian, S/o.Pandian, Convict Prisoner No.5861, now confined at Central Prison, Madurai for a period of 15 days by considering her representation, dated 08.05.2024. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) The present Writ Petition is filed by the petitioner for a writ of mandamus seeking to direct the respondents to grant parole to the petitioner's husband viz., Kandhasamy Pandian, S/o.Pandian, Convict Prisoner No.5861, now confined at Central Prison, Madurai for a period of 15 days by considering her representation, dated 08.05.2024.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner, dated 08.05.2024 will be considered and suitable orders will be passed within a period of two (2) weeks.
3. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, without going into the merits of the matter, we direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 08.05.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
