Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider petitioner's representation dated 03.06.2022 and correct the petitioner's date of birth as 21.01.1966 instead of 13.06.1964 in the Service Book maintained by the respondents on the basis of the birth certificate issued by the municipality, Melur, Madurai District, within the time stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner is presently working in the respondent society as salesman. He wants his date of birth to be corrected as 21.01.1966 instead of 13.06.1964 in the service book. The petitioner has given a representation in this regard.

3. The petition mentioned representation shall be considered and finally disposed of by respondents 2 and 3 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. It is entirely for the competent authority to consider if the application submitted by the petitioner can be entertained. The only direction that I have now given is that the application should be disposed of as per law. 2/4

5. With this direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
