1. The District Collector Madurai Madurai District.
2. The Tahsildar Vadipatty Taluk Office Madurai District.
Respondent(s) For Petitioner(s): Mr.S.Vellaichamy For Respondent(s): Mr.D.Gandhiraj, Special Government Pleader Prayer:
Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to issue patta to the petitioner in respect of R.S. No.250/10, New Natham R.S. No.250/14 to an extent of 900 Sq.feet situated at Konar Street, Meetuneerathan Village, Vadipatty Taluk, Madurai District and based on petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2026.
ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to issue patta to the petitioner in respect of R.S. No.250/10, New Natham R.S. No.250/14 to an extent of 900 sq.ft situated at Konar Street, Meetuneerathan Village, Vadipatty Taluk, Madurai District and based on petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2026.
2.The petitioner is claiming right over the property situated in old R.S.No.250/10 and the new Natham R.S.No.250/14. The petitioner claims that the said property was purchased on 01/10/2009 through Document No.1663 of 2009 from one G.Bose and his son Rajkumar for valid consideration. Thereafter, the petitioner has put up house in the said property and he is in possession and enjoyment of the same. He has also paid the property tax, electricity charges, etc. The petitioner submitted that there is no rival claim.
3.The contention of the petitioner is that the property is classified as Natham. Even though the said property was purchased for 258.5 square feet, the petitioner is an occupation of 900 square feet. Since the said land is classified as Natham, the petitioner is seeking Natham Patta based on the long possession. 4.Therefore, the 2nd respondent Tahsildar is directed to consider the above said facts and grant patta based on the sale deed and long possession within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
