Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the application filed by the petitioner dated 03.07.2017 and 11.10.2017 within the time stipulated fixed by this Hon'ble Court in-order to celebrating vaigasi 16 Kutty Sirapu Matrum Paal Sirapu Festival (Vaikasi 16 Kutti Sirappu Matrum Paal Sirapu Festival ) 2018 in the Arulmigu Kopudaiyamman Temple, Konapet, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District.

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2. Mr.T.S.Mohamed Mohideen, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent.
3. Alleging malpractices as well as irregularities by the temporary poosari, namely, Alagu, the petitioner-temple has submitted an application / complaint before the respondent as well as concerned police official on 03.07.2017, for necessary action. As the Vaigasi festival for the year 2018, is fast approaching, the petitioner-temple has submitted another application dated 11.10.2017, before the respondent and because of their inaction, the present petition came to be filed, seeking a direction for early disposal of their application.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the authorities are
inclined to pass orders on the application of the petitioner, on merits, within a stipulated time limit.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the respondent to dispose of the application of the petitioner-temple dated 11.10.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
