Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Principal Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 02.09.2017 regarding sanction of pension calculating half of the service put in by the petitioner's father Thiru. M.Pitchai continuously from 01.03.1966 to 13.04.1976 and 7 years of regular service and to inform the Accountant General, Chennai regarding his father's eligibility for sanction of pension, within a specified time frame that may fixed by this Court.

The petitioner has come up with the Writ Petition seeking a direction, directing the first respondent i.e., the Principal Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
02.09.2017 regarding sanction of pension calculating half of the service put in by the petitioner's father Thiru. M.Pitchai continuously from 01.03.1966 to 13.04.1976 and 7 years of regular service and to inform the Accountant General, Chennai regarding his father's eligibility for sanction of pension, within a specified time frame that may fixed by this Court. 2.Heard, Mr.S.Visvalingam, the learned counsel, appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Velmurugan, the learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents.
3.Having regard to the fact that the limited relief sought by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any view on the correctness or entitlement of the claim made, directs the first respondent to dispassionately consider the representation dated 02.09.2017 made by the petitioner and pass reasoned orders on merits in accordance with law and communicate the same to the petitioner and file a report of such compliance before the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court on or before 31.01.2018. 4.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the aforesaid direction. No costs.
