ORDER
The petitioner seeks the expeditious disposal of the proceedings pending before the first respondent in respect of the alleged discrepancies in the UDR Records. The petitioner claims that his family owns the property bearing New Survey Nos.793/19 and 793/21 of an extent of 0.010.0 and 0.29.0 ares, respectively, at Varpattu Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District.
2. The petitioner alleges that at the time of transition to the UDR Scheme, erroneous entries were made in the relevant revenue records. In such circumstances, the petitioner filed a petition on 22.01.2021 before the first respondent. It is stated that such proceedings were taken on record as evidenced by the 1/3
communication dated 02.02.2021. The petitioner seeks the expeditious disposal thereof.
3. Mr.P.Subbaraj, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that the first respondent may be directed to dispose of the pending proceedings on merits.
4. Given the limited scope of the present Writ Petition, it is not necessary to enter into the merits of the dispute.
5. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent herein is directed to consider the petitioner's petition dated 22.01.2021 for rectification of alleged errors in the UDR records. Such petition shall be considered and disposed of by a reasoned order in accordance with law after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and all others who would be affected by the outcome of such petition. Such reasoned order shall be passed within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. W.P.(MD).No.15315 of 2021 is disposed of on these terms without any order as to costs.
