This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the first information report in Crime No.142 of 2025 pending on the file of the respondent police, insofar as the petitioner is concerned. 2.Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) takes notice for the respondent and submits that on completion of investigation, they have filed the final report before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Kovilpatti, through e-filing LTN 20220002553C20 25000637, on 28.05.2025.
3.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final report, if so advised, in the manner known to law. Mere filing of final report is not sufficient and it is the responsibility of the respondent police to ensure that the final report is taken on file by the concerned Court within a 2/4
period of two weeks. It is also the responsibility of the concerned Courts to take the final reports on file, if it is filed in order, within a period of two weeks.
