ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to reimburse the medical expenses incurred by the petitioner's husband for his treatment towards Covid-19 to the petitioner (as spouse) under the Insurance coverage based upon the representation of the petitioner dated 30.03.2022 2.Mr.G.Suriya Ananth, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.C.Karthik, learned Standing counsel takes notice for the fourth respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is working as teacher in S.S.Muthu Chettiar Memorial School, Virudhunagar and now deployed to Rajapalayam Nadar Higher Secondary School, Rajapalayam and holder of health Card vide No.VNR/01/SB206/NHIS16/5200849 (HOD CODE 4303) issued by the Government of Tamilnadu New Health Insurance Scheme-2016. He further submitted that the petitioner's husband namely R.Rakkappan, who is working as Assistant at Child Development Programme Office at Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar District, was suffering from Covid-19 followed by "Mucormycosis" and had undergone treatment in three hospitals and spent a sum of Rs.14,89,583.24/- towards medical expenses. Thereafter, the petitioner sent a representation on 30.03.2022 to the respondents. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing this Writ Petition.

4.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the petitioner's representation is considered. 3/6

5.It seen from the medical report that the petitioner's husband had undergone treatment for Mucormycosis and she spent a sum of Rs.14,89,583.24/- towards medical expenses and copies of the bills have been produced to substantiate her claim.

6.Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and also the facts narrated above, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 30.03.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
