ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by V.RAMASUBRAMANIAN,J.) The petitioner who is the Taluk Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has come up with the above writ petition seeking a mandamus to direct the respondents to consider his representation dated 01.12.2015. 2.Heard Mr.L.Shaji Chellan, learned counsel for the petitioner. Mr.M.Alagadevan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

3.The claim of the petitioner is that the land in Survey No.150, Subramaniyapuram, Kottanathampatti Panchayat in Melur Taluk is a surplus land originally acquired by the Government. 4.It is a dry land and is not in a water body or watercourse. It appears that about 60 families who are agricultural labourers and who belong to the downtrodden sections of the society are residing there. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation for the allotment of small pieces of land to the persons in occupation. Thereafter, he has come up with the above writ petition.

5.Considering the above, the writ petition is disposed of without expressing any opinion on merits, directing the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
