Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to conclude the enquiry in the proceedings in Na.Ka.D3/3210/2014 dated 23.10.2017 which is presently pending on his file with a stipulated period as may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

By consent, this writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. Mr.M.Alagathevan, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the first respondent. Notice to the other respondents is dispensed with, as no adverse order is going to be passed and opportunity of hearing will be provided, by the authorities concerned, at the time of hearing.

3. According to the petitioner, the subject mentioned property belongs to him and neither civil suit nor rival claim whatsoever

is pending in respect of the same and as such, he is enjoying the possession. Whereas, in the revenue records, the said property stands in the name of some third parties, viz., the contesting respondents herein and in order to rectify the mistake crept-in, the petitioner has submitted a representation before the first respondent, which was taken on file in Na.Ka.D3/3210/2014. But, the same is kept pending, without any action and aggrieved thereby, he is before this Court, seeking a direction for early disposal of his appeal.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the first respondent to dispose of the proceedings in Na.Ka.D3/3210/2014 dated 23.10.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and respondents 2 to 4 as well as all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
