Heard both sides.

2. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. No counter is filed on behalf of the respondents.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that his representation dated 17.02.2016 addressed to the respondents 1 & 2 has not been considered by the concerned authorities in a proper manner. In the said representation dated 17.02.2016, the petitioner had sought for issuance of joint patta in their family name.

5. At this stage, the Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents fairly submits that the

representation of the petitioner dated 17.02.2016 would be considered by the authorities concerned, within the time fixed by this Court.

6. Considering the fact that the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2016 is pending before the respondents 1 & 2, at this stage, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, simply directs the second respondent/Tahsildar, Karaikudi, Sivagangai District to look into the representation of the petitioner dated 17.02.2016 and to pass a reasoned, speaking order on merits, within a period of 6 weeks days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (Of course, after providing necessary opportunity to the petitioner and others concerned, if any, by adhering to the principles of Natural Justice). It is made clear that when the respondents require the petitioner to make a proper application seeking issuance of joint patta in a prescribed format in terms of Patta Passbook Act, 1983 and the Rules, 1987 made thereunder, then, the same shall be obtained from the petitioner and to proceed with the matter in issue, within the time frame determined by this Court.

7. With the aforesaid observations and directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
