O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondent to restore the drinking water connection to the petitioner's house situated at Door No.2/5, Pillaiyar Kovil Street, Pandaravilai, Perungulam Village, Thoothukudi District.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the water connection for the above mentioned property was disconnected by the respondents illegally on 26.02.2020.

3. Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthiah, learned standing counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent has placed before this Court, a communication received by him from the second respondent dated 05.11.2020, wherein it has been informed that a sum of Rs.20,710/- is due and payable by the petitioner towards property tax and water charges. On instructions, he would submit that on payment of the said sum, they shall restore the water connection to the petitioner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner is prepared to pay Rs.20,710 for getting the water connection restored.

5. After recording the submissions made by the respective learned counsel, this Court directs the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.20,710/- to the second respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on such payment, the 2nd respondent shall restore the water connection to the petitioner's property at Door No.2/5, Pillaiyar Kovil Street, Pandaravilai, Perungulam Village, Thoothukudi District within a period of three days thereafter.

6. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
