Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to pay the pension to the petitioner with arrears and interest from the date of the death of the petitioner's husband namely S.S.Lingam (00627).

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to pay the pension to the petitioner with arrears and interest from the date of the death of the petitioner's husband namely S.S.Lingam (00627).

2.Heard Mr.M.Elanchezhian, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Sathiyasingh, learned counsel, who has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is brought to the notice of this Court that before filing of the Writ Petition, the petitioner has made a representation dated 13.03.2017, to the first respondent for the relief sought for in the Writ Petition, which has not yet been disposed of and that the petitioner would be satisfied, if appropriate orders thereon are passed by the first respondent within a time period that may be fixed by this Court.

4.Though the petitioner has sought for a larger relief, having regard to the aforesaid circumstances, this Court, without expressing any view on the correctness or entitlement of the claim made, directs the first respondent to dispassionately consider the representation dated 13.03.2017, made by the petitioner and pass reasoned orders on merits in accordance with law and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner and file a report of such compliance before the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court on or before 17.01.2018.

5.This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly, with the aforesaid direction. No costs.
